Low Voltage Control Cable - Voltage Ratings Explained
The voltage grade of a low voltage control cable determines the insulation thickness, the maximum working voltage between conductors, and the high-voltage withstand test it must pass. Choosing the correct grade is a safety-critical decision.
300/500V
Signal & low-power control
Conductors up to 1.0 mm² with thinner insulation (≈0.6 mm). For 24 V DC, 4–20 mA, sensor, encoder and low-voltage control circuits. Must not share a conduit with mains power.
450/750V
Control shared with mains wiring
Conductors 1.5 mm² and above with thicker insulation (≈1.0 mm). For 230 V control relays, contactors, motor circuits and cables that may share a tray with 230/400 V mains.

Quality Control & Testing
Every reel of low voltage control cable is 100% tested before shipment. The voltage rating is verified by a high-voltage withstand test at the specified test voltage (e.g. 2000 V AC for 300/500V, 2500 V AC for 450/750V). We also test conductor resistance per IEC 60228, insulation resistance between every pair of cores and between cores and shield, and shield continuity on shielded versions. A retained sample from each batch supports full traceability.
