Alarm cable is a specialized type of cabling with integrated continuous fault-detection capabilities, widely used in applications requiring high reliability, such as perimeter security and the monitoring of industrial equipment.
Unlike standard cables, its core feature lies in the inclusion of specific resistive components within the wire cores-or the use of a unique twisted-pair or braided structure-which keeps the entire circuit under a state of low-current monitoring. Should the line be disconnected, short-circuited to ground, or severed, the circuit's impedance will undergo an abrupt change; the control system can instantly detect this anomaly and trigger an alarm. In short, it effectively transforms the "cable itself" into a "detector."
